City Breaks Ground For New Clay Tennis Courts

Tennis opportunities are about to increase 142% in the City of Palm Coast when the Mayor and City Council Members turn five shovels of dirt at the property on Belle Terre Parkway. The groundbreaking will officially launch the construction of ten new public tennis courts. With the City presently having seven ‘hard' public tennis courts for play, the hydro-grid lighted clay courts will soon make tennis more accessible to more players. Playing tennis is excellent for weight control, physical fitness, for enjoying Palm Coast's great weather and spending time with friends and family.

Tennis Center groundbreaking ceremonies will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 8:15 a.m. on Belle Terre Parkway, just south of the intersection at Royal Palms Parkway. Welch Tennis Courts, Inc. was selected by Council to construct the clay courts, a parking lot and temporary clubhouse, all scheduled for completion in June, 2007. Affordable tennis membership information will be available this coming spring.

For those of you not sure where this is, this is right outside of the Lehigh Woods subdivision.  This means this subdivision is not only close to the new Town Center, it is also right next to the new tennis courts and has the new elementary school!  Talk about the subdivision to be in.
