Well, the real estate industry is all a-buzz about the new Point2 NLS (National Listing Service) and I might as well just jump on the bandwagon. You the customer, either buyer or seller is probably thinking... "Yeah, and?", aren't you. Let's see...Just what is in it for you? After all, what do you care if the real estate industry has a new tool? What do you care if there's some sort of new 'system'? There are so many now, what difference could it make?
Well, let's take a stab at it. YOU the seller get more exposure if you are dealing with a Point2 community member. YOU the buyer get to see listings with more information, more pictures to help you make a more educated decision on what you would like to see or not see. And, we're not just talking in your little town or state...we're talking other countries also! So, for the seller, you get exposure nationwide. This exposure isn't just your listing is on the NLS....there are cooperating real estate websites that also list your property AUTOMATICALLY. Your Point2 agent can pay a little extra on some of this services to have the listing of YOUR property featured. Point2 agents can co-operate with your agent and allow the listing of YOUR property be on their own website, with their own information as if it's their own listing. This allows BUYERS to work with an agent they are comfortable with, gives them more opportunity to see the listing through the various venues and more listings with rich content. It's a win-win situation for everyone!
Now, keep in mind, not all sales associates are REALTORS. I think a Realtor is who you should be using...we are held to standards beyond the state legislation, but with a point2 agent and the NLS, you get more exposure, more people working for you!
